Insect pheromones are trace chemical substances secreted by insects that can seduce allogeneic individuals for mating. It is a species-specific communication system. They have a high degree of specificity, including functions of attracting (trapping), stimulating, promoting or inhibiting feeding, spawning, mating, gathering, alarming, and defense. Each pheromone has a specific stereochemical structure.
